Nearing the end of his 4000-mile journey Dr. Soung is on a train traveling north in the Yukon Territory, Canada. After many sleepless nights and nightmares that have haunted him since his family's death he has been pursued by images of the past, which are now masquerading themselves as daydreams.
Forced into this mental purgatory his mind has no regrets churning up his most recent past that includes his wife taking her and their daughters lives. Dr. Soung can't help but look over the letter that brought him this far off his chosen path.
Snapping him out of the ritual of re-reading the letter that summoned him there, the cabby probes him for information, before revealing some of the complicated and mysterious history about the facility Devereaux Estates that he will soon take charge of. In his lucid state Dr. Soung does not fully grasp the complexities of details the cabby is giving him.
Dr. Soung is hurriedly greeted and given a tour of the grounds before, Rich the acting director of human services leaves town with a vengeance.
This short, but informative tour reveals why Doctor Soung’s services are needed. His predecessor Dr. Martin was dismissed after an employee’s unexplainable death rattle him to his mental core and drove him mad.
This Alcatraz of mental homes, as it was known is Dr. Soung's new home and work environment. Before the death of his wife Dr. Soung was one of the best at what he did. He was a leader in his psychiatric community at a world-renowned institution. Now he is here and glad to be anywhere.
One of Dr. Soungs patients, named Remmi caught his eye and filled his glass of curiosity.
Dr. Soung finds the facility in shambles as well as most of the patients. His interest in Remmi almost became an obsession.
Remmi was highly medicated and treated with Electric shock. Remmi had not spoken in 18 months. Dr. Soung’s predecessor assumed she was a mute.
Dr. Soung put and immediate end to all of her medication and treatment, he reintegrated her into the general population and started an aggressive therapy program to probe her mind and free her of her past. All the while trying to free himself of his own.
One of the first things we learn is that, Remmi does have a voice and she uses it under regression. She screams “No bath, no bath!” on a regular basis.
Devereaux Estates was left to the Yukon Territory after Henry Devereaux and his wife were found dead on their huge estate. Some believed their adopted son had something to do with it. Nothing was ever proven.
Masked by secrets this young man was the first resident of Devereaux Estates the mental home and the first one to die there.
After looking over Remmi's medical records Dr. Soung has his first breakthrough, noting a visitor named Sherman may have vital information about the location where Remmi was found.
Remmi was found near by, on a reservation approximately 100 miles away from Devereaux Estates in the mountains. A local hunting party found Remmi near dead and brought Sherman into facilitate medical attention.
Undercover, a rogue federal agent, Dick Turks and Dr. Soung journeyed to the reservation to talk to the man named Nokoose, the man that found Remmi many months ago.
Dr. Soung and Dick are greeted outside the reservation by some unsavory locals and are made to walk into an ongoing celebration.
This life-changing trip gives us a glimpse into the ancient and sacred powwow where demons are fought and ancestors are honored.
Dick is looking for Nokoosa also and to give him $500,000 from a deceased white man who started World Oil Corporation.
This white man, many years ago, started a small oil company and a small family in the oil-rich valleys of the Yukon Territory. World Oil was the company and Nokoosa was the son.
The next morning we meet Nokoosa and his mother Tarra. Nokoosa reveals to Dr. Soung where and how Remmi’s badly beaten body was found.
This trip being very successful only explained where and how Remmi was found. Only her mind contained the story before she was found.
Back at Devereaux Estates Dr. Soung started a regiment of mind probing sessions.
Remmi's father had built World Oil Corporation into a viable legitimate powerhouse, when the mob proceeded to take the Company by force.
The mob lead in part by Remmi’s uncle Frank infiltrated the Company and kills Remmi’s family.
Not knowing, they didn’t kill Remmi, she starts on her path of revenge.
When Dick enters her life and puts the weight of his experience into the mix, they come up with a plan to bring down World Oil Corporation.
To divide and conquer this corporation Remmi goes through the front door and hits them where it hurts, their bank accounts.
From the inside; she sinks the corporate yacht, makes costly land deals, blows up an oil refinery, and levels a pier, all to get, to her uncle and the mob.
This story culminates in a flight taken in World Oil Corporation’s jet with herself and the last living foes of World Oil Corporation.
Remmi takes over a plane, crashes it into a mountain minutes before she jumps out.
• In the end Remmi cleans up World Oil Corporation and gets legislation passed to prevent world oil price gouging. She helps Dr. Soung heal and get on with his life and re-unites herself with her half-brother Nokoosa. REMMI
